Questions you might have

If the work involves the electrical service connection between your property and the electricity distribution network, an accredited Level 2 service provider may be required. Metric Power is an Ausgrid-accredited ASP Level 2 provider authorised to carry out this type of network connection work.

Yes. Electrical contractors can engage Metric Power to complete the Level 2 components of a project where work involves the property’s connection to the electricity network.

Yes. Metric Power can assess a private power pole and determine whether repair or replacement is appropriate. Replacement can involve safely removing the existing pole before installing and connecting a new one.

In most cases, Ausgrid needs to be notified as part of the connection work, and a Certificate of Compliance is submitted once the job is complete. Council approval requirements vary depending on the type of work and your council area. As your accredited Level 2 provider, Metric Power manages the Ausgrid notification and compliance process as part of the job, and can help clarify whether council approval applies to your situation.

Why use Metric Power for Level 2 alterations?

Electrical alterations that touch the network connection need an accredited Level 2 provider – without one, you’re stuck coordinating between an electrician and a separate go-between just to get the job done. Metric Power is an Ausgrid-accredited ASP Level 2 provider, authorised to connect installations directly to the network, so there’s no middleman involved.

We also handle the full scope of Level 2 work in-house – overhead and underground installations, meter connections, and disconnection and reconnection to the main power supply. That means one team manages your alteration from assessment through to completion, rather than you coordinating separate contractors for each stage.
